We never set out to start a cat supplement company...

We were just cat parents — the kind who talked to their cats, rearranged schedules around feeding time (that would be Holly), and quietly worried every time something seemed off. For a long time, we did what most cat parents do: trusted the labels, trusted the brand, trusted that "vet recommended" meant something.

Then came the diagnoses. And everything changed.

Suddenly we were those people. Haunting Vet offices. Reading every ingredient list. Falling down research rabbit holes late into the night, looking for anything — anything — that might actually help.

We tried the expensive prescription food. The specialty brands. The vet-recommended diets with the impressive-sounding names. We wanted them to work.

But the more we learned, the more frustrated we became.

The uncomfortable truth about "premium" cat food

Here's what we kept discovering, over and over again, the deeper we dug:

Most commercial cat food — including the expensive, "premium" kind — is full of fillers, carbohydrates, and plant-based ingredients that cats were never designed to eat.

This isn't a conspiracy theory. It's basic biology.

Cats are obligate carnivores. Unlike dogs or humans, their bodies are specifically designed to run on meat — and only meat. They lack the metabolic pathways to properly process most carbs and plant-based foods. And yet, most cat food (including prescription diets) is loaded with exactly that: corn, wheat, peas, soy, vegetable proteins, and an alarming amount of added phosphates.

We kept asking the same question: Why?

The answer, we eventually understood, was economics. Fillers are cheap. Meat is expensive. Phosphates are like "kitty crack" to get them addicted to the food. And most cat food is formulated around margin, not biology.

Worse, some of those fillers — particularly the excessive phosphates — are directly linked to conditions like Kidney Disease. The very disease Coconut was fighting.

We weren't just frustrated. We were angry.

Eric gets to work

Eric has spent 25+ years in the food and nutritional supplement industry. He has a degree in Microbiology. And once we understood what we were actually dealing with, he had one mission: formulate something better.

Not better-marketed. Not trendier. Actually better.

He spent months researching feline nutritional science, studying AAFCO guidelines, and testing formulas. The goal was simple: create a supplement mix that would let us make our own cat food at home — with real, human-grade meat we could source ourselves — that was nutritionally complete, biologically appropriate, and free of everything cats didn't need.

No fillers. No unnecessary carbs. No excessive phosphates. The ability to choose an Omega-3 option - not just fish-derived options (about 10%-20% of cats have fish allergies - including our Lune Belle - a fact most brands completely ignore). No ingredients added for marketing purposes. Just the vitamins and minerals cats actually require, in the right amounts, backed by science.

What happened when we made the switch

Once we started feeding our cats a simple homemade meat-based diet using Eric's formula, the results were hard to argue with.

Coconut's Kidney Disease stopped progressing. Luna Belle's fish-reactive "episodes" ceased.

Energy levels went up across the board. Hairballs dropped dramatically - and for our younger cats (especially the short-hairs), disappeared almost entirely. Coats got softer. Weight stabilized. Out cats looked different. They acted different.

We weren't expecting a miracle. We got something better: consistency. Real, sustained improvement that we could see every single day.

We're not naturally "brand-builder" types. We're cat parents who found something that worked and couldn't, in good conscience, sit on it.
