Catnip Seeds and Soil
The seeds are Non-GMO and includes enough for 3-4 plantings - if one planting doesn’t sprout, try again!
Nutrient dense soil includes organic seed starting mix (to aid in seed sprouting), earthworm castings (natural, organic plant food) and organic indoor potting soil mix.
When planted, watered and cared for according to directions, the seeds will usually sprout within 1-2 weeks.

Fresh catnip is a healthy, natural treat for cats! In fact, all of our cats enjoy eating the freshly grown catnip compared to only half that like rolling around in the dried catnip.
When ingested, fresh catnip has a calming effect and reduces anxiety, stress and depression
It also helps soothe the stomach and can help reduce bloating
Fresh catnip is a mint and can naturally help freshen kitty’s breath!
-
Hold Soil pouch at the top and shake back and forth to move the soil to the bottom of the pouch.
Tear Soil pouch open at the notch and fill the planter about 75% full. Put the rest of the soil to the side.
Tear Catnip Seeds pouch at the notch (make sure the seeds are at the bottom!) - sprinkle a pinch of the seeds (about 5-8 individual seeds) on top of the soil. Save the rest.
Cover the seeds with about 1/4” of the leftover soil.
Sprinkle 2-5 TB of water on top. You want the soil damp, but not completely saturated.
Place planter in sun/part-sun
Add 3-5 TB of water every other day to 2 days.
Sprouts may appear within 1-2 weeks! (If sprouts do not appear within 3-4 weeks, sprinkle a few more seeds on top and continue to water as directed)
When the leaves are about .5” to 1” wide, clip and present it to kitty!
-
When clipped regularly, the leaves will keep growing
Either snip leaves off with a scissors or gently pull it off from the base of the leaf stem
Catnip needs sunlight and water regularly to stay healthy.
Warm months: give it a little water every other day - 3-5 TB is usually good, but adjust more or less as needed
If your Catnip is wilted: just give it some water! It should perk up within a few hours
Cooler/cold months: you may be able to go a couple days in between watering
Add extra soil as needed - after continued watering, the soil may pack down. For best results, keep the soil at least 75% full in the planter.
If the catnip leaves are turning pink/purple or curling under, your catnip needs some extra nutrients. (The soil gets depleted with watering)
We recommend organic Vegetable and Herb Food - it’s a natural fertilizer that contains nitrogen and potash. Dr Earth and Garden-Tone are brands we prefer.
Sprinkle 1/8-1/4 tsp of plant food on top of the soil in the planter and water the plant as normal. It will start producing green leaves again.
If your plant is getting “overgrown” and the stems are super tall, it’s time to prune the ‘Nip!
Using a small scissors, cut the stem(s) to about 1-1.5” from the soil level. It should start producing new leaves.
If your cat loves it too much and it looks like the plant is destroyed, DON’T throw it out! Keep watering it normally - many plants make a complete recovery!
