With our Homemade Cat Food Supplement Mix, you’re in control — from the quality of the meat to the nutrients supporting your cat’s long-term health.

Cats are obligate carnivores. They don’t need fruits, vegetables, or grains — and many of those ingredients can be difficult for cats to metabolize or contribute to inflammation.

This formula is designed to support what cats actually need.

FAQs

Title

Everything you need to know to feed with confidence

What is the Homemade Cat Food Supplement Mix?

Our Homemade Cat Food Supplement Mix provides the essential vitamins, minerals, and trace nutrients your cat needs for a complete and balanced diet when combined with real, human-grade meat.

It’s microbiologist-formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for cats at all life stages, ensuring species-appropriate nutrition when prepared as directed.

How do I use the Mix?

Simply add 1 scoop of mix per pound of prepared meat (or measure out 29 grams of Supplement Mix per pound of prepared meat for the most accurate measurement).

You can use raw, par-cooked, or fully cooked meat, depending on your preference and your cat’s needs. Portion the food and refrigerate or freeze for later use.

Each package includes simple instructions and a QR code linking directly to our Directions Hub, where you’ll find step-by-step guidance and helpful tips.

What kind of meat can I use?

You can use human-grade meat such as chicken, turkey, pork, beef, rabbit, lamb, or venison.

This formula pairs well with all protein types. Many cat parents rotate proteins for variety and enrichment.

Can I use fish as the protein?

Fish alone has a different nutrient profile and our formula is not developed to be used with fish alone. Even the majority of commercial cat foods on the market advertised as fish typically contain another source of protein as a base (ie. chicken, beef, turkey, duck).

Some ways to incorporate or use fish:

Cook up a salmon filet and top or mix a little into the cat's meal

The same can be done with fresh or canned tuna - Safe Catch is a great brand because they test for mercury levels

Freeze-dried salmon or tuna treats - crumble one on top of the cat's meal. (This is loved by all of our cats! We do it once per day so they don't tire of it)

Is it really balanced and complete?

Yes. The Original Formula is formulated to meet AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including kittens.

Each ingredient is selected for purity, digestibility, and bioavailability — supporting optimal nutrient absorption.

Does this formula already include liver?

Yes. The Original Formula contains chicken liver powder, a nutrient-dense organ that supports a biologically appropriate feline diet.

You do not need to add additional liver unless recommended by your veterinarian.

Do I need to add anything else?

No additional supplements are required when the mix is combined with meat as directed.

An Omega-3 Oil is optional but recommended to support skin, coat, joint health, and anti-inflammatory balance.

For additional gut and immune support, some cat parents choose to add our Microbiome Booster Postbiotic once daily.

Can I feed this to cats of different ages?

Yes. This formula is designed for kittens, adults, and senior cats. Portion sizes can be adjusted based on age, weight, and activity level.

Can I mix homemade food with commercial cat food?

Yes — especially during transition. Mixing homemade food with your cat’s current diet can help them adjust gradually to new flavors and textures.

How long does a bag of Supplement Mix last?

Each full-size bag makes approximately 20 pounds of finished food. How long it lasts depends on how many cats you’re feeding and how much they eat.

One pound of homemade food is roughly equivalent to 3–4 cans of commercial wet food (5-5.5 oz cans).

How should I store prepared food?

Prepared food can be refrigerated for 5–7 days or frozen for longer storage.

Thaw frozen portions in the refrigerator overnight. Microwaving directly from frozen is not recommended.

No asthma attacks!

These supplements are a hit with my cats! And since we have been feeding them raw, my cat has had minimal asthma attacks!!

Best Cat Mom Ever!

Feeding my cats home cooked meals makes me feel great! I was a little worried I might find it a hassle after the initial glow wore off, but I've been serving my girls Superior Feline for months now, and I'm never going back!

I made a mistake with my order and they were very helpful in resolving the issue

I made a mistake with my order and they were very helpful in resolving the issue. My senior cat, being a crunchies/fancy feast junkie, was at first, not amused, but with the help of the liver powder topper and some nutritional yeast, he is well on his way to better health and happiness.

Highly recommend, especially for the picy dry food junky type cats

I've been using this brand for about 1.5 years and all there of my boys (14,13,2 years old) love it as much as i do! The 13 yr old was a dry food junky and now gets upset if he doesn't get his homemade wet food when he excepts it and he also pukes less. All three cats are a healthy weight, shinny/silky soft coats and over all much healthier and happier! I could write a whole essay on how great these products are. I also use the liver powder and postbiotics. Highly recommend!!! Only complaint is i wish there was an auto order option!

My four fur babies now eat homemade food without turning up the cute little noses. I have noticed less vomiting 3 like the topper one doesn’t unless shebis trying to eat everyone else’s before finishing her own. I hae tried another brand and only one would eat it. So glad they have trial size as I didn’t want to waste anymore money. Bought the post biotic which is doing wonders for them and the calm which I haven’t tried yet. Highly recommended.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your and your cats' experiences with the products! We're so glad they're liking and benefiting from them! 😻

Crazy cats

Ever since I started making my own cat food I’ve never known a moment of peace. I have five cats and every single one screams their heads off until I feed them. they love this mix so much I had to install baby locks to keep them from breaking in the cupboards.

Oh my gosh, your review made our day! Too funny! We're SO glad your furry kids are continuing to love the food made with the Supplement Mix (and the Supplement Mix itself!) - even after a couple years! The baby locks made us lol 😂 Thank you for taking the time to share! PS: LOVE the picture!! Adorable! 😻
